Would you like to relive the historical period between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and enjoy one of the most beautiful historical re-enactment festivals?
COME TO PERUGIA ON JUNE 8TH, 9TH, 10TH AND 11TH!
A succession of highly evocative moments, opening with the night-time re-enactment of the great Braccio Fortebracci entering the city, victorious after the Battle of Sant’Egidio, in 1416, as well as a magnificent daytime historical parade in his honour. The five Magnificent Districts – Porta Sole, Porta San Pietro, Porta Eburnea, Porta Santa Susanna and Porta Sant’Angelo – will compete for the 2023 Palio, between the allegories presented within the Corteo of each District and the three sport challenges: Corsa del Drappo, Arco Storico and Mossa alla Torre.
After the thrilling contests, with great solemnity Braccio will proclaim the Winning District for the year 2023. Medieval music and street artists, taverns, shows, people in historical costumes, demonstrations of ancient crafts: everything creates a festive atmosphere of a Medieval city and its celebrations.
Guided tours to the city’s treasures, living history at the main square, flag wavers, drums, songs and games for the little ones; a book market, exhibitions and workshops in the Medieval city, inside the Rocca Paolina. There is something for all tastes.
Perugia awaits you in all its beauty, like an open-air stage immersed in history
