The Piccinino was born in the old 1386 in Caligiana, castle under the dominion of  Perugia Municipality, and lived his infancy in Perugia, in the District of Porta S. Angelo. Pupil of Braccio Fortebracci and one of his most faithful lieutenant in his conquest of Perugia and in his military campaigns in Umbria, Marche and the Kingdome of Naples, he was the continuer of Braccio’s military school and head of Braccio’s Armies after his death in the Battle of l’Aquila (1424). The Piccinino, working for the Duke of Milan Filippo Maria Visconti, marked unforgettably the history of Italy in the first half of the XV Century.
